The Monuments

Today began our Pre-tour of the National Jamboree. We had a chance to visit Fort McHenry the home or our National Anthem. From there we ventured on to Washington D.C. to see the monuments. Our tour included: The Boy Scout Monument, a drive by of the White House, Einstein Monument, Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean Memorial, The Martin Luther King Memorial, FDR Memorial, WW II Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial. The young men were anxious and excited to be out of a plane and bus.

Before our tour of the monuments we included a visit to Honest Abes: a Souvenir Store across from Ford's Theater. The boys feasted on knick knacks, coins, key chains and of course some Angry Bird Sunglasses. On our monument tour we encountered  little of Mother Natures fury ( a cloud burst) followed by the ultimate rainbow.  Here is a some highlights of today's tour.
